Did you know that over 4000 texts are sent every second in the UK. That works out to over £224 spent per second on text messaging alone. Why pay more? Better yet, why pay at all? At home or abroad, you'll save with MailTXT.
MailTXT is a new FREE texting service from the Daily Mail that allows you to send unlimited messages to other registered MailTXT users anywhere in the world. You can even invite as many friends and family as you'd like to join at no extra charge.
How does it work? It's simple. MailTXT works by briefly connecting to your phone's internet connection to send and receive messages. By doing so, our new FREE service allows you to send unlimited messages to friends and family at home. Abroad, you'll save up to 90% off your text bill. Take a look at our comparative price chart to see how you can save.
Will using MailTXT cost me anything?
MailTXT will not charge you a penny for using the service. However, as MailTXT connects to the internet to send and receive messages, your operator may charge you a small amount for data transfer. We estimate the data transfer cost from mobile providers to be around 50p for every 100 messages sent and received in the UK. Though MailTXT has no control over the small fee mobile phone operators may charge for you to access the internet, we've still got you covered. Here's how. To offset these costs, we're offering a 0.5p 'MailTXT Credit' for every message sent and received on your phone.
These credits can go a long way. Once your MailTXT Credits are accumulated, they can be redeemed at Mailshop, the Daily Mail's shopping website, or used towards money off vouchers when purchasing the newspaper. Your first 'MailTXT Credit' will be due in February 2009 and is only available to users registered in the UK.
So what are you waiting for? Signing up for MailTXT is free, fast and requires no commitment. It's well worth it, both for your pocket and your peace of mind.
You can send two types of messages via your MailTXT inbox:
The reason we are giving you 50 free international SMS messages is because we understand that using MailTXT means a different way of texting. Your 50 free international SMS messages will help you get used to the MailTXT way of sending messages and we truly believe that once you start seeing the cost savings, you'll be clamouring to sign up your friends and family to the service
This offer is valid for UK registered mobile numbers only. Offer valid until 31st Oct 2008.
How will I benefit from using MailTXT?
There are many ways you can benefit from MailTXT. Even if you already receive a bundle of texts from your current mobile contract, you can still save. Maybe you're looking to reduce your kids' text bills or want to stay connected to friends and family abroad. Whatever your challenge, we've got the solution.

In addition to these cost saving benefits, the Daily Mail will also be introducing a number of exciting new services through MailTXT; including MailTXT alerts, competition entry, and 'on-the-go' shopping at Mailshop.co.uk.
Will MailTXT work on my phone and with my current contract?
MailTXT has been tried and tested on many phones and UK mobile tariffs. If your phone has an internet connection, can play games or download ringtones, then we're 95% certain that it will be able to run MailTXT. If you run into problems setting up MailTXT on your phone, we have a full Step By Step set-up guide in the HELP section.
Step 1 of the Step By Step guide also allows you to check MailTXT compatibility against your network operator and the type of tariff you have.
